In 1994, Steve and Sue started racing a Rear Engine Dragster after completing a three day course at the famed Frank Hawley school of Drag Racing. The car was powered by a Big Block Chevy that Steve had built for the 225” Spitzer Chassised machine. The car ran in the mid 7 second range at approx. 175 mph with Steve doing the building, tuning, and maintaining. The team had many top ten finishes in 2009 and 2010 at Milan Dragway where they were regular competitors.

In 2010, Steve built a Nostalgia Funny Car on a 2008 chassis with a 57 Chevy body based off of the famed Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen’s famed Nitro Funny Car. The car was named “Susie Q” and was powered by a blown alcohol Hemi couple to a 3 speed Lencodrive transmission. After a steep learning curve, Steve and Sue drove the car to times of the mid 7 seconds range running exhibition with the NDRL. Ultimately over the next 9 years the car ran as fast as 6.35 @ 218 MPH.
