Tim Curry

Tim was born in Miami Beach, FL on October 23, 1961, where he lived for the first 21 years of his life. On his birthday in 1982, he decided to pack up a suitcase and head to Michigan. He found his home in Allegan, Michigan where he still resides with his wife Judy of 33 years, his son Kris, two daughters Lindsey & Lauren, and his 8 grandchildren. Racing was in the blood of Tim, it was a natural. His mom Alberta was the first to join the sport and found her love for it in 1963. The whole family followed along and also found their love for racing, Tim’s dad, brother, & sisters also were a part of it. In 1976 Tim began his first year of racing in Naples, FL at Collier County Speedway. Just two years later on March 4, 1978 at the very same location Tim picked up his first feature win on the night of spring championship. Tim continued racing over the years and his love and passion for the sport continued, with multiple wins and championships.

Tim has multiple favorite memories, but when asked two specific memories came to mind. The first one to come to mind was a race in the early 90s, in Michigan at Kalamazoo Speedway, where Tim & Bob Holley battled for the lead, side by side for 70+ laps with Bob on the bottom. Bob edged Tim out for the win. It was a great race with neither Tim nor Bob making contact. Just good ole racing. The second memory that came to mind was that very same year, same track, with Tim racing for the lead with Mike VanSparrentak. Tim on the bottom, driving side by side for 70+ laps, Tim only remembers ever making contact with Mike one time, just another good night of racing.

In May of 1997, Tim continued his passion and love for the sport, but this time not behind the wheel. He opened the doors to Finish Line Fabricating in Allegan, MI. This day, 25 years later Tim is still living his dream, from being the fabricator & builder, to the crew chief & mechanic, to the guy to call when you’re at the track and not sure which direction to turn. We tend to call him Mr. FLF, just for that reason.

From the words of Tim, “As a chassis builder, being able to work with some of the greatestdrivers in the country and win just about every major asphalt race there is to win, is one of my greatest victories.” Some of the main races won by Tim, his customers, drivers and race teams of FLF have taken place at various racetracks throughout the country, to name a few, the Winchester 400, the All American 400, Florida Speedfest, Kalamazoo Klash with multiple wins by multiple drivers, & TheNew Paris Speedway -Summer Sizzler. Over the years numerous wins& track championships have taken place by multiple different drivers & race teams of FLF. However, one not to beforgotten was in 2016 at Kalamazoo Speedway, with Andy Bozell behind the wheel of the #70 FLF Super-Late Model, making it the World’s Fastest Stock Car, with turning a lap of a 9.465 at 142mph. Andy, again winning a record 80k in one year, one being the 30k to win Kalamazoo Klash.

Over the years Tim has had the pleasure of working with multiple drivers and race teams, Tim Felver, Scott Hantz, Andy Bozell, Steve Dorer, Phil Bozell, Joe Bush, Jesse Dutilly, Michael Goddard, Jimmy Carter, just to name a few. “The list goes on and on of the star- studded drivers and race teams I’ve gotten to work with”, Tim said. In 2019, was Tim’s last race at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. Tim still continues to help his customers, drivers and teams of FLF reach the finish line all over the country. Tim has no plans of stopping to pursue his passion of racing & helping his customers anytime soon.
